Reflection: In this verse, God is telling me/you that He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness if we confess.
I think God is very patient and merciful to each one concerning that we are not perfect. No matter how hard we try, we fall and fall all over again. God has the manual (Bible)for us to follow, but pressure from the world and our flesh keeps us from being perfect. It is good to know that we can confess all to God and we get a new start.
So, if we are dirty…confess. If we feel worn out…confess. If we feel that we are on the verge of a meltdown on the freeway of life…confess. If we want to experience the blessing and hand of God in our lives…confess. If we are having doubts…confess. If we envy others for their success or good health…confess. If we began to be proud or self-righteous….confess.
Prayer: Dear God, I thank You for giving us chance to confess everything. Every sin, every struggle, being fearful or weak, and so on. Thank You for new chances every day. Let us not take for granted though Your goodness. May our hearts have the right motives. Because Your joy is our strength. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
