Reflection: God is implying that His grace is more than enough for whatever weakness that I and you have. It is like God is saying that with Him we can do all things. All things that are in line with His Word of course because not all things are beneficial for me and you.
I think of the word GRACE. What this word really means? I think it is very important since God is saying that His grace is enough for me and you.
I learned a lot in studying the word GRACE.
It said that GRACE is God’s Righteousness at Christ’s expense.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
God’s grace is abundant. There is no end to the goodness, mercy, love, healing, forgiveness, and countless other ways he pours out his blessings on His people. Through the endless reserves of God’s grace, he enriches our lives and unites us together in his family, the body of Christ.
2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. (NKJV)
It is God’s life, power, and righteousness given by unmerited favor to us. It is forgiveness and a blessing. Through grace God can effectively change our hearts and lives. Grace gives us new lives that are not condemned by God.
GRACE is a spontaneous gift from God to people – “generous, free and totally unexpected and undeserved” – that takes the form of divine favor, love, clemency, and a share in the divine life of God. It is an attribute of God that is most manifest in the salvation of sinners.
If we then receive grace from God, then we should also show grace to each other like forgiving, giving favor, love, blessing, and so on.
1 Peter 4:10
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. (NIV)
Forgiveness is an amazing way to show grace to those who, we don’t believe deserve it. In the bible, Jesus tells us that in the same way He had forgiven us, we should also forgive others.
God’s grace is amazing because it is an undeserved and free gift. It is the exact opposite of what we deserve; there is nothing we can do to earn or merit it. While God’s grace is free to all those who trust in Jesus as their personal Savior, it was purchased at a great price.
It is so amazing to live a life in the grace of God because our burdens are being lifted from us. We can give our burdens to Him. Our passage becomes smoother and more enjoyable, even when conditions seem hard to bear. We need not be unruffled. With grace, we can deal with trials and tribulations without breaking steps.
We can show grace to others. When we finally learn that a person’s behavior has more to do with their own internal struggle than us, we learn grace.”
Grace though is not letting the other person off the hook. It is loving someone unconditionally and giving them the benefit of the doubt. Grace is “choosing” to be loving even though you know the other person wronged you.
And we can also show grace to ourselves. Self-grace means to forgive ourselves for past mistakes and move forward. If we stumble and sin, we should repent, forgive ourselves, accept God’s grace, and move forward.
God gives grace to those who are in need and who humbly come to him for help. His grace supplies us with the power to serve, preach the gospel, and endure suffering, persecution, and hardship.
There are lots of verses about the grace of God that we can find in the Bible like:
God’s grace flows from the essence of his being: “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness” (Exodus 34:6, ESV)
Acts 14:3
So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the Lord, who bore witness to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands. (ESV)
Hebrews 4:16
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (ESV)
Acts 4:33
With great power, the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all. (NIV)
