The whole armor

Reflection:
Danger can come…everywhere, anytime, or in the most unexpected places. We are living in an evil world where wrongs have been made right and right has been made wrong. Where one needs to be the bad one to be popular. And the desire to be righteous is almost not the goal of many anymore. The trend is to do what you want, what makes you happy, and what makes you popular. To satisfy the cravings of the flesh.
God had said that we should put on the whole armor of God so that we may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
He also said in 1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
It made me think that as a believer, we could not afford to be on vacation when it comes to our spiritual walk. We need to walk with God, put on His armor, and walk the narrow gate. Or else, the enemy will take over our lives without us knowing it. The enemy will make us believe that we don’t need God. That He is not doing anything for us and all we need is riches, power, popularity, and leisure that this world could give.
We are God’s ambassadors of His redemption story. But without His protection, we are vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy. So, we need to put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, and the helmet of salvation.
God is our umbrella of protection. Our refreshment in the heat of our daily toils. The solution to every problem. And our guide to an unknown and scary path.
Prayer:
Father God, clothe us with Your armor and do not let us be unprotected, day in and day out. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
