Good work!

Reflection: The verse says that God has begun a good work for me, and you and God will bring it to completion on the day of Jesus Christ.

I thought of the things that God had begun in my life. I do believe that God had begun His good work in us from the moment we were conceived. He designed us in our mother’s womb and decided how we are going to look like and what kind of talents we are going to have to bring His purpose in our lives and it continues until the end of our days on earth.

When I think about it, my mind goes to those that were born in countries where the government decides what kind of life one should live and what kind of religion the people should practice like in Muslim countries. Or the primitives that live in secluded areas. I asked God: “What about them God? What are their chances of getting to know Jesus?”

Well, of course, there is now the internet where people have access to every kind of information. But if the people are already indoctrinated, I don’t think they will be drawn to reading articles where it tells that Jesus is the only way to heaven. But who am I to question God? Well, maybe that is why Jesus told his followers to go and make disciples of all people.

Making disciples is not an easy task. In fact, it is a kind of task that most believers neglect to do. After all, it is not easy to share God with people nowadays because most people do not believe in God. The believers are getting ridiculed for believing that God is real and that the Bible is His written word.

But of course, as believers, we should not give up trying. Don’t give up reaching out to our family or friends and supporting those that are out and sharing the gospel. It is like when we try to lose weight, it takes a lot of effort to do so. We fail time and time again, but if we continue…we will be rewarded one day. Probably people will tell us that we should just give up and just eat or live the way we want because there is no hell. And maybe you will think…” let others go to hell if they want.” Why sacrifice yourself for unbelieving, hard-headed people? But Jesus said that we should love our enemies and that is why it is we should not give. Quitters do not win in this life.

And when I think about my life where I barely managed my everyday life because of my health problems.  I do not have the energy left in reaching others for Christ. But thankfully, I do not need to do it all by myself. I can rely on God’s help every day and believed that no matter what my situation is, there is still I can do as long as I desire to follow God.

Good to know that it is God who will complete my life or yours in such a way that we will be victorious so that when we face God’s throne one day, He can say:

“ Well, done my faithful servants.”

Prayer: Heavenly Father, first I want to thank You that You who have the most brilliant mind of all, created each one of us. Every living creature both seen and unseen. Furthermore, everything that You had created is beautiful. Amazing nature with different colors and formations surrounds us. Everything was formed in such delicate and mind-boggling individuals. And we are connected in such a manner that even if one of the species will be annihilated, it will affect the rest of your creation. With that in mind, we should really care for each other even people that we don’t like and the smallest insect that pesters like flies and mosquitos or spiders. They all have a purpose that is why You made them.
