Peace of mind

Devotion for the day

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You.

Reflection: This verse tells me that if my/your mind is focused on God and if we trust in Him, then we will have peace. I think that it is right. The WORD of God is always right by the way. But it is not so easy though because we live in this troubled world. We are bombarded every day with things that are more than enough to clutter our minds. So many responsibilities. Work to do. Bills to pay. People that need help. Some people around us are fighting with one another because of different opinions. And maybe our marriages do not work well, and our children are going astray. The enemy is always around trying to make us lose our faith.

Not only that, we are also overwhelmed with so much information and temptations. Our feelings go up and down. Our bodies crave so many things like food to eat, clothes to wear, and places to go. In addition, we need to decide which is right or wrong, what kind of decision to choose, and our plans for the future.  Dreams and goals to achieve. Nowadays though, it is difficult to plan for the future because of the covid virus, the war between Russia and Ukraine which affects everybody, and so on. And if you are like me who suffers from a sickness that hinders us to do many things because of chronic fatigue, pain, and foggy brain, then it is not easy not to worry.

Anyway, I/you need to choose to focus our minds on God and trust in Him. Instead of relying on what the world says or what our bodies say.  I/you need to rely on what the WORD says instead in every situation. If we keep listening to the world, our minds will be polluted. Reading the Word of God, or listening to Him in prayer leads to peace of mind. And if we trust in Him, we don’t need to be afraid even though this world crumbles before our eyes. Our God is powerful, and he holds our future.

Prayer: Dear God, help us to focus our eyes on You and to trust You with everything. With our lives, finances, health, family, and the future. Don’t let us be intertwined with the world, but in Your WORD instead. Because, in Your WORD, there is peace, life, healing, deliverance, and much more. Your WORD is like a treasure. You said to Joshua that he should not let Your WORD depart from his mouth. Instead, meditate on it day and night so that he can carefully obey what is written on it, then he will be prosperous and successful. And Lord, I believe those words applies also to us. So, help us Lord to be faithful and be intentional in seeking You with all our hearts, souls, and spirits. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen

    1. You are lucky and blessed to have your faith in God. I do not, but still focus on peace, health, family, friends, and aim to be a positive person and have respect for life 🥰
