1 Corinthians 10:13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

Reflection. In this verse, God is saying that He is faithful. That He will not allow me and you to be tempted more than we can stand. And that he will show us the way out so that we can endure.

I think the problem is that I /you forget God and what he says in His Word every time we face a temptation that is why we succumbed to temptations many times.  We are tempted every day and most of the time we do them without asking God like if we want to browse hours on Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Netflix, YouTube, and so on. We just do it. I know coz I did it many times. This verse reminds me that I/you should ask God and what His Word says about what we tempted for so He can guide us the way out.

But whatever God is telling me or you, we must obey. Our spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. The problem is not with God, it is with us. The decision is ours. But help can be found in God. We need Him in order to defeat the enemy.

Come to think of it, it is not only social media that can temp us. There are many decisions that we need to make every day like:

-should we give or not.

– lie or tell the truth

– work hard or procrastinate

-believe or not

-take revenge or forgive

– read the Word of God or not

-pray or not

– exercise or just lay on the sofa

-move or stay home

-do good or bad

-ask help or try to do it our own

Never-ending choices. And that is why I believe that I/you need a 24/7 connection with God or else we will go against God’s will in our lives. And that leads to destruction and makes evil very glad. He wants to take us with him to doom. And we should not allow that to happen. We must intentionally intertwine ourselves with God. And who would not want to be connected with God who has the source of life and everything? If we don’t, then we will be called “fools” just like in the Bible who do not honor God.

My goal from now on then is to ask God for guidance in everything that I am going to do so that I can overcome temptations😊

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the reminder that You are ever faithful and are willing to help us to manage to defeat any temptations in our lives. We only need to ask. Please Lord, help us not to be stubborn or seek more pleasures in the world than Your Word. Make us aware of the beauty in being in your presence and guidance. The joy of obedience and the reward that comes with it. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
