Who are the heroes?

Who are the heroes?

Although we want to be heroes of our own stories, we could not be one without the villains. A beautiful story is when a hero manages to defeat his/her adversaries, or else it will be a boring story.

As much as I want to have a problem-free life, and for everything to go smoothly as I want them to, it cannot be, because no man is an island. And when I am interacting with others…I will be affected by their lives in one way or another.

And I believe that even those people that we thought were not significant in our stories, they are sure a part of the big picture.

Mother Teresa said: “We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean will be less because of that missing drop.

God created everything and everyone because each one is a part of God’s story. Everyone has a role. Those who had done good things to us and those who mistreated us. Whether we like it or not…God loves them too and wants them to be a part of His story. A part the God wants them to play.

Keep it in mind that “God has a plan for us…plans to prosper us and not harm us. Plans to give us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Our call? Talk to God. Be in His presence and pray. Be willing to listen and seek Him with all our hearts. Do not separate ourselves from the One who created us.

Luckily, God is patient and still waiting for each one to repent and come to Him. He is waiting for both the heroes and the villains, the weak and the strong, the sinners and the holy, the poor and the rich, the victims and the assailants. But one should do it while there is time. Tomorrow might be too late.

God is a forgiving God. Jesus had told us to “love our enemies, bless those who curse us, and to do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who spitefully use and persecute us so that we can show to the world that we are God’s children. (Matthew 5:44)

God loves His enemies too. He makes the sun rise on them and sends rain too just like he does to the good ones.

God commands us also to forgive although it hurts the very core of our hearts. Jesus was hurt much, much more. He was tortured to death. But He prayed:” Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. (Luke 23:34)

We can pray that prayer too when someone wronged us, betrayed us, left us, forsaken us, hated us, and so on. Why? Because we have a job to do. God has given us a mission to reach for the lost and we cannot go forward if we are carrying hate, anger, doubt, unforgiveness, bitterness, self-pity, and fear in our hearts. Leave all to God so that He can remove all those things because we only need love (God) in our hearts. And if we have God, we have everything. Then we will be like the heroes of old.
