IF YOU ARE INTO AN ARGUMENT
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up anger. Proverbs 15:1
Reflection: Actually, I have a kind of anger inside me. Wanted to punch or kick but I don’t know whom or how. I am angry at the covid virus who had taken the life of my eldest daughter…still so young. I could not even travel to visit my family in the Philippines. I am angry with the sickness that keeps coming devastating me and people who are near to me. But whom shall I fight and how shall I fight? Not people who are victims like I do. Not God…whom my life comes from. Well, the devil yes. But how can I punch him or the covid virus?
This verse tells actually how we should interact with people when we encounter disputes. I am not a quarrelsome person. I always avoid it if I can. But it just reminds me that in my current situation, I don’t need to be angry or curse the devil. It will do me any good. I can just answer Him with the Word of God. Quote him Psalm 91 for example.
That passage will also calm me and build my faith which is actually what I need so that there will be no anger or hate that will reside in my heart.
Is there someone you are angry with today?
Remember: Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. Proverbs 15:4
Prayer: I thank You Lord for the reminder not to be angry about my daily battles. Because it does not help me. It just makes my enemy happy. Thank You for Your Word that brings life and health to my body. You promised to heal in Your Word and that I should believe not the circumstances. Thank You that no matter what happens, You will always be on my side. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
Wishing you a peaceful day!
jeg sliter med at jeg sier masse stygt om jeg først krangler med noen. Dette liker jeg ikke.
